Latino Churches Meet for Celebration

Robert MearnsOnce a month the Latino churches in Taylorsville, Granite Falls, and Hickory meet together for a Celebration Service.  On a recent Saturday evening Robert Mearns attended, as well, to share a brief prophetic word and join his fellow Hispanic brothers and sisters in worship of the Lord.  Robert's word came from Genesis 26:15-22 where Isaac is confronted with striving and opposition each time he digs a well for the people.  Finally, in verse 22,

And he moved from there and dug another well, and they did not quarrel over it. So he called its name Rehoboth (meaning "spacious" or "room"), because he said, "For now the LORD has made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land."

Robert encouraged the Latinos to continue digging wells and to not give up because of difficulty and opposition.  "Those things you will always have.  But one day you will proclaim the Lord has made room for you."

Reverend Ricardo SerranoThe Celebration Service began with a variety of worship from musicians, singers, and dancers.  The evening's message on making the indwelling Christ the centrality of each believer's walk of faith was spoken by Reverend Ricardo Serrano from Morganton, NC, with his wife Gladys in attendance. The evening concluded with food and fellowship in the Spring night air as the children ran around the parking area.
